Subject: Accepting Applications: Yale's Implementation Science and Prevention Methods Pathway in MS/PhD Biostatistics Programs

We hope you are doing well during this challenging time.

We are writing to inform you that Yale’s new pathway in Implementation and Prevention Science Methods for the MS and PhD degrees in Biostatistics (BIS)is now accepting applications through December 15. The standard biostatistics pathway for the MS and PhD remains, but this new pathway or specialization will now allow students with a strong interest in implementation and prevention science methods to systematically concentrate on this specialized field as they pursue their degree at Yale.

Although other institutions in the US and abroad offer various certificate programs, master’s programs, and at least one other PhD program in implementation science, Yale’s new pathway is the first degree program to provide rigorous training in implementation and prevention science methods, including training in the development of new methods to advance the field. Other programs, importantly but quite differently, focus on the practice of implementation science and are targeted to those with subject matter expertise (e.g., in mental health or cancer prevention). Yale’s new program, by contrast, targets those wishing to develop scholarly methodological expertise.

We invite you to read through the attached program flyer and use the following links to explore the curriculum for both the standard and implementation and prevention science methods pathways in biostatistics and further investigate these wonderful opportunities for biostatistics training and research at Yale.
